Bharat Ratna Abdul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, generally known as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was   11th President of India (2002-2007). The two leading political parties of India.In 2002 He was elected against Lakshmi Sehgal and had support from both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress.  he was a scientist and an administrator in India.

 ISRO Work:-

He worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as an aerospace engineer. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam called ‘Missile Man of India’. In 1998  The Pokhran-II nuclear tests conducted in India. After The nuclear test of 1974 saw him in a pivotal political, organizational and technical role.

 At the Indian Institute of Management, Indore; the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; and the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was visiting professor. He visiting faculty at other research and academic institutions in India. He was the honorary fellow of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and the Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology at Thiruvananthapuram.

 ‘India 2020‘, In his book, he writes to plan one by the year 2020 to make the nation a fully developed. His motivational speeches made him very popular among the youth. In 2011, he launched a mission called ‘What Can I Give Movement‘ aimed at the youth of India, which focused on defeating corruption in the country.

  Background his life:-

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam belongs to necessitous and little educated Tamil family. father his mother name is  Ashiamma, she was a homemaker. He young age to support his father. He received more than other students grades in school.but He was so hardworking and bright student with a strong desire to learn things. He completed his school days at Rameswaram Elementary School.   he graduated in Physics from St. Joseph’s College in Tiruchirappalli,  University of Madras.  He moved to Madras and joined the Madras Institute of Technology and studied aerospace engineering In 1955. His dream was to become a fighter pilot, but he was ranked ninth while the IAF offered only eight slots. He remained a bachelor.

Journey:-

he visited NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland and Wallops Flight Facility.Between the 1970s and 1990s, these year Kalam take an effort to develop the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and SLV-III projects, both are proved to be successful.

Kalam performed as the 11th President of India, succeeding K.R. Narayan. In 2002 presidential election he won with an electoral vote 922,884, that is surpassing the 107,366 votes won by Lakshmi Sahgal His term lasted from 25 July 2002 to 25 July 2007.

On 10 June  2002, Kalam   nominate  for the post of President in that election Time  After the Samajwadi Party announced its support for Kalam, Kalam  announcement of his candidature:

After leaving the precedent post, Kalam became a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, the Indian Institute of Management   Ahmadabad and Indore, also He obliging fellow of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram, professor of Aerospace Engineering at Anna University,  

Death

 A massive cardiac arrest during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.  During, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalamwas death on   27 July 2015

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam National Memorial

  •  National Memorial is The late President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The memorial immemorial in memory situated at Pei Karumbu, in the island town of Rameswaram, in Tamil Nadu, India. This inaugurated on the 27th July, 2017by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The memorial was built by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).

 

  • On display are the replicas of rockets and missiles with which Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had worked with. Acrylic paintings about his life are also displayed along with hundreds of portraits depicting the life of the mass leader.

 

  • There is a statue of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in the entrance showing him playing Veena (musical instrument). There are two other smaller statues of the leader in sitting and standing posture

Dr. Kalam’s terrific contribution to the scientific world,  he was always modest his achievements.

Dr. Kalam was elected as 11th President of India in July 2002.  As President, he shared his vision for India, addressing youth and old with the same passion which formed his entire life.

 Dr. Kalam was passionate about transforming society through technology especially in inspiring the youth of India to harness Science and Technology for human welfare.
